How to Recharge
Studying for your CPA exam takes a lot of time, energy and dedication – making it a tiring and overwhelming task. While it is important to stay focused on your goal, it is just as imperative to take time to recharge to avoid burn out or becoming unmotivated. Here are so ways you can relax and recharge when you find yourself stressed out:
1. Find a Mindless Activity
Allow your mind to rest after a busy day/week of studying, find a relatively simple and mindless activity to engage in. Make your favorite meal, watch a favorite movie, paint, read, or do anything else you enjoy that will not add stress to your mind.
2. Reward Yourself
Another way to perk yourself up when you’re feeling burnt out is by rewarding yourself periodically for all the hard work. Buy yourself a pair of shoes you’ve been wanting, eat dessert for lunch, or book a spa appointment; whatever fulfills you.
3. Change Up Your Routine
While it is important to stay on track with your study plan when preparing for your certification exam, there are other ways you can revitalize your routine so you don’t feel burnt out by repetition. Make plans with your friends go for a walk and/or engage in an unusual activity.
4. Step Away from Technology
It has been suggested that excessive digital focus on screens during study can affect your memory and retention. Practice stepping away from your phone at night. Put your laptop away and instead of scrolling through social media, read a book or engage in another activity that doesn’t involve your phone to allow your eyes and mind to relax.
At TAPA Institute we value the importance of recharging while studying for your CPA exam. That is why we make sure to incorporate relaxation time into our customized study plan that we create for each of our clients based on their needs.
